HAMPTON- Albert W. Hayes, 83, was called to rest in the late evening hours of Thursday, April 18th, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA.  Albert was born on April 19, 1940, in Richmond Virginia, to the late Mason T. Hayes and Estelle Anderson Hayes.  He was the only son of two children.

Albert was a devoted husband for 56 years (Alice Wallace, deceased).  He is survived by his daughter Allison Hayes, granddaughter, Alexis, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Albert graduated from Virginia Randolph High School in 1958 and Virginia State College (now University) in 1960. He served in the Army reserves for six years and retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after over thirty years of service.

Funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 25th at Triumph Christian Center, 5501 Huntington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 24th from 3-6pm at O.H.
