Alfred Leon Lewis “Fred”, 74, of Newport News, Virginia, peacefully entered eternal rest on August 1, 2026. He was a U. S. Army veteran, devoted father, man of faith, and gifted bass guitarist.

“Fred” lived a life rooted in service, family, and music. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, devoted companion Jeanette, and many loved ones. His music may have grown quiet, but the love, laughter, and legacy he shared will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA. A viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19th, at the funeral home. We ask that you continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
