Allen S. Jones, 75, a native of Newport News, VA, departed this life at his home in Baltimore, MD on March 5, 2024.

He graduated from G. W. Carver High School and later joined the U.S. Army to serve in the Vietnam War. Allen retired from the Social Security Administration. He enjoyed being an events and activities coordinator at his senior citizen building community. He also loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Allen will be lovingly missed by family, friends, classmates and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by parents, Samuel Sr. and Bessie Jones; brother, Samuel Jr.; sisters, Marva Love and Joyce Lee; nephew, Kedar Muhammad.

Allen is survived by brother, Walter Jones (Shirley); nieces, Madelyn Love-Muhammad and Angela Jones; nephews, Andrew, David and Aaron Jones; special cousin, Maxine West-Bey; great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2024 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
