Ann Camelia Williams Powell, 79, transitioned home to the Lord on November 23, 2020 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA. Ann was born July 18, 1941 to the late Rev. Joseph H. Williams, Sr. and the late Violet W. Williams Gray in Newport News, VA. She attended the Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Huntington High School in the Class of 1959.

Ann was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and was surrounded by caring friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Robert Powell; sister, Violet M. Thomas; brothers, Dea. Joseph H. Williams, Jr., Rev. David A. Williams, Sr. and Elder Andrew J. Williams, Sr.; and brother-in-law, J. Calvin Thomas, Sr.

Ann attended Norfolk State College (Univ.), Norfolk, VA and Peninsula Business College, Newport News, VA, leading her to a civil service career. Beginning in the Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC, Ann later moved to New Jersey and transferred to the Department of Defense. With 30 plus years of dedicated service, Ann retired in 2003 from the Department of Defense at Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, VA.

Ann will be sadly missed, loved, and remembered by her daughter, Wanda Johnson (David), Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Nyla Johnson, Atlanta, GA; sister, Janice Williams; brother, Peter S. Williams (Sandra) both of Newport News, VA; sisters-in-law, Constance Williams, Gladys Henderson-Williams both of Hampton, VA; and Margaret G. Williams, Orlando, FL; aunts, Jocelyn Howard (Harry) and Ruth Willimas both of Hampton, VA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends.
