Annie B. Daniels, 100, the Founder of Madam Daniels School of Beauty Culture and an influential civil rights and political activist in Newport News, peacefully left earth for heaven on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

The homegoing celebration for Madam will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Providence Baptist Church, 1331 -30th St., Newport News. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with a Wake Service from 6-7 p.m. Madam will lie in state two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday. O.H.
