Armatha Hill, daughter of the late Calvin Hill and Katie Flowers, was born on May 16, 1943 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  She departed this life on November 1, 2021.  At an early age she was converted and joined Pleasant View Baptist Church in Shallotte, North Carolina until she moved to New York City.  In later years, she moved to Newport News, Virginia then to Hampton, Virginia until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, seven brothers and five sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Lewis Evan Hill of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; granddaughter, Shannon Wheaton (Jawaun); great grandson, Xavier Wheaton of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Carolyn Marsh of Hampton, VA and Dottie Hampton (Alton) of Newport News, VA.  She also leaves, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

We, the family would like to thank a special great niece, Pamela Overby for being there for her Aunt Mae when we couldn't.  Your loving kindness and sweet spirit will never be forgotten, we will forever be grateful.

Viewing will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2700 Parish Avenue, Newport News, VA.  The Reverend Sarah Hill will be officiating the service.  O.
