Mrs. Aurelia "Doll Baby" Overton, daughter of John Slade Jr. and Aurelia Askew, departed this life on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at home surrounded by family.  She was born in Tabb, VA.  She attended Huntington High School, received her Bachelor's Degree from Virginia State University and Master's Degree from Old Dominion University.  She was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., (Alpha Eta), Virginia State University in 1954.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy R. Overton, Jr., and leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years, Tommy R. Overton, Sr.; two sons, Norman Overton (Phyllis) and Cecil Overton, three daughters, Scerene Giles (Mark), Audrey Overton, and Faye Jennings (Curtis); one sister, Alease Jones and one brother, John "Sonny" Slade; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at the funeral home.  A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., March 13, 2021 at O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.  Please adhere to wearing of mask and social distancing.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
