In Loving Memory of Barbara Piggott

With very deep sadness, we announce the passing of Barbara Ruthlyn Piggott, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, who left us in tranquility on August 1, 2024 at the age of 99.

Barbara was born March 11, 1925 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Ernest Wade and Otelia Wade.  She lived part of her childhood in New Jersey, but lived the rest of her life in Newport News, Virginia.  She was the oldest of four sisters, and was married to the late Oliver Preston Piggott.

Barbara is survived by her children; Patricia Hickey, Oliver Piggott and Karen Piggott; granddaughter, Shannon Ashe; great grandchildren, Aisley Ashe and Ellis Ashe; and her sister, Gwendolyn Ricks.  She is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Hampton Memorial Gardens.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
