Bertha Henderson McGhee, 105, a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, and a resident of Newport News, Virginia for many years, died on Thursday, April 1, 2021. She was the oldest and a dedicated and faithful member of Galilee Baptist Church, Newport News. She was a self-sufficient widow until the age of 98. Due to a fall, she broke her pelvic bone and was moved to the Gardens at Warwick Forest. It was an adjustment, and she would always tell you that the staff was truly kind to her and she loved them all. She always thanked God for keeping her.

She is survived by her daughter, Elder Brenda Ball, and son, Aldean McGhee, Jr.

Viewing will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
