Newport News- Mrs. Bertie M. Sykes departed this life on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Union Baptist Church, 361 Maple Avenue, Newport News. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m., Monday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church on Tuesday. O. H.
