Carlon Brown, Sr. passed away on January 7, 2019 at Newport News Nursing Home in Newport News, VA at the age of 86. A retired U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and Korea, Carlon is predeceased by the late Mrs. Edna P. Brown, mother of Carla Brown and Valerie Rivers, and by Mrs. Sandra K. Brown, mother of Carlon Brown, Jr.  Carlon leaves to mourn his memory, his children, Carla, Carlon, Jr. and Valerie; cousin, Dorothy Tynes; sister-in-law, Gladys Eaton; niece, Pam Willis; nephew, Terri Willis; a host of extended family and dear friends.

A celebration of Carlon's life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in  Hampton National Cemetery, Phoebus section.  Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on tomorrow.
