Christine E. "Nanny" Powell Johnson Porter, 96, departed this life on Monday, January 8, 2018.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Raymond T. Johnson; daughter, Thelma Spiller; four grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Wayne Johnson (Andrea), Donna J. Johnson and Jermaine Johnson; five great grandchildren, Durrell, Robin, Naomi, Deion and Sappora; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Queen Street Baptist Worship Center, 98 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
