Clara Y. Whitaker
“Forever loved, forever remembered, forever in our hearts.”
Clara Y. Whitaker was born on May 19, 1966, in Hampton, Virginia, and peacefully passed away on August 22, 2026.
Clara will forever be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful spirit, laughter, boldness and unconditional love for her family and friends. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and at home.
Clara had a passion for doing hair, cooking, spending time with her family, laughing, dancing, and simply enjoying life. What many people may not have known was just how adventurous and competitive Clara could be. She loved a good challenge, loved having fun, and especially loved roller coasters. Her vibrant personality and zest for life made every moment with her memorable.
Clara was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. The day she walked through the doors of Trinity was a turning point in her life, beginning a beautiful journey of faith, growth, and transformation.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ada Pearl Whitaker and Jesse Whitaker.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her four children: Anthony, Teneisha, Tequilia, and Tiara Whitaker; nine grandchildren; her brother, Ronnie Whitaker; and her sisters, Annie Shedrick and Verna Stokes.
Although Clara may not be here with us physically, her love, laughter, strength, and beautiful memories will live on forever in our hearts. Her life was a gift, her presence was a blessing, and her memory will never be forgotten.
