Curtis Lucas, Jr. peacefully transitioned to his eternal rest on August 27, 2021, after a brief illness. Curtis Lucas, Jr. was born on August 28, 1951, in Nash County, North Carolina.  He graduated from York High School in 1970. He was employed by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company (Huntington Ingalls), as a Machinist for 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis Sr. and Virginia Lucas, sister, Arlene Lucas, and grandson, Josiah Lucas.

Left to cherish his memory, is his beloved wife, Blanche H. Lucas; daughter, Jessica Woods; three sons, Matthew Lucas, John Lucas, and Philip Lucas (Britany); brothers, Thurman Lucas, Raymond Lucas (Vivian), Ronald Lucas and Glenn Lucas (Andrea); and sisters, Ann Lucas Jones, Sharla Lucas, and Patricia Hayes Harper. His grandchildren: Ivan Woods, Charles Woods (Ashley), Aliyah Lucas, Uriah Lucas, Michaela Woods, Isaiah Lucas, Joél Lucas, and Gracelyn Lucas. Two great-grandchildren: Aubrey Woods and Journee Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
