Daisy LaJeune Ellington a native of Staunton, Virginia; daughter of the late Mary and James Huggard, Sr., sister to the late Arlena Huggard and spouse of the late Willard M. Ellington went to sleep and received her wings on Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Daisy retired from Newport News Public Schools after 26 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Les Femmes, The Modernettes Social and Civic Clubs; and Orcutt Senior Citizens.

Daisy is survived by her devoted brother, James R. Huggard, Jr. (Frances); sons, Ivan K. Huggard, Willard "Bill" M. Ellington, Jr. (Loretta) and James E. Ellington (Lasonja); daughters, Sheliah E. Ellington and Stephanie L. Ellington; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Newport News.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
