Danny Goodwyn departed his life on November 4,2022. Affectionately known as "Daniel" was born October 03, 1942 to the late Eliza J. Fletcher in Lakewood New Jersey. He was one of two children.
Daniel was Educated in the Ocean County Public Schools system. He relocated to Washington DC to be close to his brother. He was a die-hard fan of the Washington-commanders (Washington Redskins). He loved the ordinary things out of life. He loved his family, and he was never a complainer. Daniel's favorite pet was Nana his bird that he treated like his child.
He started working for the Mayor Command Center for many years in Washington DC, before he completed a career change into security. He started working with People Drugs store who was then brought by Rite Aide drug store corporation. He worked his way up from a security guard to head of security. He traveled to different states to teach, trained, and install surveillance throughout the stores. During his tenure working with Rite Aid drug store, he met the love of his life Alicia Brown. They both relocated to Newport News, Virginia where they settle down and he retired from Rite Aid Drug store.
Daniel was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Smith and his Brother Marshall Brown.
He leaves to Mourn: his lifelong companion Alicia Brown of Newport News, His daughter Tanya (Eugene) from Waldorf, MD; 5 grandchildren, Paris Webb, Aleshia Smith, and Joseph Smith from Beltsville, Maryland, Alexia (Antonio), Ashley (Dvon) of Waldorf; 4 great grandchildren, Emoni, Kaiden, Ethan, and Ryan; 2 nephews and one niece from Washington DC, Kwame (Marcia) and 2 kids, Che (Carla) and 2 kids, and Njeri Santanna and 2 kids; and a host of cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
