David Andre' Gholson was born September 21,1967 in the City of Newport News, VA and went to be with Jesus on August 23, 2024 while living in Yorktown, VA.

David was a 1985 graduate of Tabb High School and attended George Mason University on an engineering/track and field scholarship. He then transferred to Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri to play football and study God's Word where he met and married his best friend, Pamela Joy Stricklin on June 24, 1989.  He was Worship Pastor at Bethel Church of Norfolk and was later voted in to be the Bethel Church of Norfolk Lead Pastor.  He became associate pastor of Lighthouse Assembly of God alongside Lead Pastor Larry Todd for 2 years as the Bethel/Norfolk congregation merged with the Lighthouse congregation.  Then he became the Worship Pastor at Bethel Temple in Hampton.  He was serving as a board member at Warwick Assembly of God up until August 23rd.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pamela J. Gholson and 3 daughters Valencia N. Lamm (Joseph and Jayden), Terika L. Williams (Norman) and Erika L. Williams.  He was the second son of Reverend Doctor George R. Gholson Sr. {deceased} and Reverend Doctor Jacqueline T. Gholson.  He has two surviving brothers, George R. Gholson Jr. "Jody" (Rachel, Tucker and Lylah) and Dennis C. Gholson (Milandy {deceased} and Bryce).

David lived a good life of serving others, worshipping God and church leadership.  "The Master was full of praise.  'Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'"       Matthew 25:21 NLT

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Warwick Assembly of God, 1228 Todds Lane, Hampton, Virginia.  Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the church. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
