Deborah Diana Gayle Inniss was called home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2023. She was born March 19, 1950, to the late Addison Gayle, Sr. and Carrie Inez Hollimon Gayle Brewer in Newport News Virginia. In 1971 she met and married Antonio C. Inniss on September 15th in Newport News Virginia.

Deborah graduated from Huntington High School in 1968. She attended Anthony Barber College. She was also a member of St. Paul AME Church where she served as Secretary and sang in the choir. She loved writing poems, and she loved people.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Loretta Gayle Maxwell Carter, Reginald Gayle, Addison Gayle, Jr., Dorothy Matthews and Mary Gayle.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio; children, Stepphon D. Gayle (Justine) and Traci D. Inniss; grandsons, Damien D. Gayle (Danielle) and Malikhi Royce Jones; and great grandchildren, Laylah and Amurah Gayle.  Additionally, she is survived by her biological sister, Yvonne Koonce; a sister-in-life, Lucille Newby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at the funeral home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
