Donald L. Hines departed this life on September 30, 2024.
-It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Hines, a beloved member of the Newport News community. Donald, 64, was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a dedicated employee, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of the community. Donald will be remembered for his infectious laugh and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. His presence will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing he made a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
-Donald Hines was born to Lewis Henry Hines and Clara Denise Hines on September 12th, 1960. Donald Hines served a credibility of 20 plus years at Kia Casey Dealership. He was a dedicated member of Casey and enjoyed being a part of such a profound establishment that was more than just a job, but made him feel at home.
-Family meant everything to Donald. He cherished sacred occasions consisting of annual birthday parties, holiday events, and other festivities for his family members. He really loved family and was proud of all their accomplishments.
-Memorable moments of his existence will live on forever, who can ever forget his incomparable cooking, infectious laugh and captivating personality. He was so loved by a selective few, but the selective few that did love him understood how he was and adapted to him ways out of love.
-Donald is preceded in death by his beloved parents. Lewis Henry Hines and Clara Denise Hines. His beloved brother, James Knight.
-Anybody that knew Uncle D knew that he loved his music, love making beats, and enjoyed playing his beats while driving around.
-Anybody that Knew Donald Hines knew his famous time, "I beg your pardon", with proceeding to stop what he would be doing and move his glasses down.
-Left to cherish Donald's memory is his beloved family- His siblings, Delorus Sherrod, Hugh Rey Knight, Edward petter Knight, Stephen Knight, Mollie Bernard, Larry Hines, Clara Denise Hines, Jamie Hines, Arleen Haynesworth-Diggs, Louis Hines Haynesworth, Stella Knight. Host of Niece/ Nephews/ Cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the funeral home. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
