Dorothy Ann Wright transitioned this life on December 27, 2020.  She was born on January 1, 1925 (a New Year's baby), in Hampton, Virginia. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and was a friend to everyone she met.  She had a kind, compassionate heart and gave of herself selflessly. The joy of her life was her family, second only to her faith in and worship of Jesus Christ.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Mickey Wright, Jr.; four children, Helen Mears, Floyd Tolliver, Shirley Holden, and Bobby Wright; mother and father, Harry and Theresa Golden; and was the last surviving sibling of seven brothers and four sisters.

Dorothy is survived by three children: Brenda Williams (Harry), Michael Wright, and Calvin Wright (Sherenda); treasured grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 3 – 6 p.m., on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Newport News, Virginia. An intimate family service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
