Edgar A. Mincy

Edgar was born in Metter, GA to Asberry and Queen V. Ellis Mincy.  He graduated from Lillian Street High School, Class of 1966. After serving in the US Army, He embarked on a long career in transportation services He was inducted into the NPTC- Bridgestone/Firestone Driver Hall of Fame. He accumulated over 3 million accident free miles. He retired June 2015.

Edgar enjoyed cooking so much he purchased a food trailer. He was known for his Ribs. All we know is that… man could cook!!!

Edgar is survived by Janice Smith (Life Partner); sisters, Thelma Davis and Lilla Barlow of Newark, NJ; brother, Little Willie Claud Mincy of Metter, GA; two aunts, Almeeter Phillips of Metter, GA and Ruby Wright of FL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on January 27, 2024 in Metter, GA.  Final care arrangements are being entrusted to Whitaker Funeral Home, Metter, Georgia.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family in Virginia.
