Edith Lewis Whiting, 87, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2022. She was the daughter of Ozel and Lena Brodie. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1952 and received a nursing degree from Norfolk State University. She was a longtime member of First Baptist East End, Newport News and belonged to the Golden Key Ministry.

Edith leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, La Wanda Lewis Artis, a loving granddaughter, Dr. Shavon Artis Dickerson and her husband Clarence Leroy Dickerson III, and her "Sunshine" great-grandson, Liam Isaac Dickerson.

The viewing will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Ivy Baptist Church, Newport News, VA.  The service can be viewed via Live Stream by clicking on this link... https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084463904715
