Ellen V. Rice, 87, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025 in Lawrenceville, GA. Preceded in death by husband, Emanuel "Sunny" Rice Jr. (1998) and by daughter, Kathy D. Rice McClain (1990). Survived by daughter, Paula Rice Thompson of Lawrenceville, GA; sons, Sheldon Rice (Carolyn) of Columbia, SC and Scott Rice (Allison) of Douglasville, GA; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of extended family, dear friends and acquaintances. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025 at O.H. Smith and Son Funeral Home, 3009 Chestnut Ave., Newport News, VA. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton, VA.  Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday.
