Faye G. Slidge, was born on December 3, 1933 in Decatur, AL to Willie Mae and Scipio Garth. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA.

Faye was a member of Carver Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Continental Societies Inc, Newport News-Hampton Chapter for 32 years and served for several years as Director of King Street Community Center, Hampton VA.

Faye leaves her devoted daughters, Shelley Slidge (Robert), Deborah Holmes, Valerie Slidge, Annette Slidge and Deneane Bell; seven grandchildren, Tinishia Washington (Truman), Javon Hazell (Shakeyia), Trina Holmes, Cherria Holmes, LaTasha (Kenny), Jamaal Bell (Connie), and Antoine Bell; thirteen great grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren;  two special sons, Ronnie Scruggs of Memphis TN and Norm Davis of Atlanta GA; and a host of family and friends.

Due to recent health concerns the funeral service will be private, but will be live stream at Carver Memorial Presbyterian Church's Facebook Page.  Viewing will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the funeral home, followed by a private wake service at 6 p.m. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
