Francis Overstreet, daughter of the late Mr. Frank Vines and Susie Vines-Shields, was born on October 25, 1934, in Newport News, Virginia.

During her younger years, she met and married Paul Overstreet who preceded her in death.

Francis was employed with the Newport News School System as the head cook for 14 years and later retired in 1997.  She was also a member of Club 36.

Francis loved her family , laughing, and reminiscing about times with family and friends.  Francis was a very loving person who made a lasting impression on anyone that came in contact with her.  She also loved shopping and looking good at all times.

Francis departed this life on December 30, 2020 after a lengthy illness at St. Francis Nursing Center.  She was preceded in death by her twin brother Frank Vines (Bro), her adopted sister Lyn Shields, adopted brother Billy Shields, and Cousin Trina Norfleet.

Francis is survived by her niece, Deborah Branch of Baltimore, Maryland, and a host of family and friends.

Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the funeral Home.  Due to COVID 19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
