Mrs. Gloria K. Smith quietly entered eternal life on Monday, October 19, 2026.

A native of Newport News, Virginia, Gloria was born on May 16, 1941, to Sandy Peter and Helen Keller. She grew up in the East End and was a proud graduate of Huntington High School, Class of 1956.

Gloria was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church East End and the League of Christian Women. A pillar in her community, she began her career with ten years in education. She then served as a residential assistant for Walker Village Apartments, rising to Property Manager, a position she held with distinction for three decades, touching countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy and Helen; Shirley Dudley, the father of her daughter; and her beloved grandson, Brandon Dudley, who was her pride and joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her younger sister, Barbara Poe; her only child, daughter Kelly Dudley; and her precious great grandson, Levi Dudley. She is also remembered by her daughter-in-law, Lovely Houston; her valued family friend, Jennifer Sanders; and a host of other dear friends.
