Harold D. Ricks, Jr., 68, peacefully passed away September 14, 2021.  Surrounded by his wife and daughter, Harold transitioned to his heavenly home.

Harold was a devoted husband, dad, poppy, cousin and friend.  Born in Newport News, Virginia, Harold took pride in being a mighty Viking of Huntington High School Class of 1970.  He furthered his education at Virginia Union University earning a Bachelor's Degree in 1974.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold D. Ricks, Sr. and mother, Lucille D. Ricks.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Rose "Candy" Ricks; daughter, Patricia "Angel" Ricks; stepson, Darrin (Carla); grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Newport News (Baptist), 2300 Wickham Avenue, Newport News, VA.  O. H.
