Deaconess Iretha Doles Tolliver quietly slipped away into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father on August 15, 2021.

Born on July 10, 1934 in Courtland, Virginia she was the 13th child of the late Robert Ishmael Doles and Margaret Adams Doles.

Iretha was a member of Greater Walter's A.M.E. Zion Church becoming one of the first women to serve as Steward and later becoming a Deaconess actively serving as long as her health would allow.

She was married to the Late Roland L. Tolliver for 50 years and from that union three children were born.

Iretha worked for the Newport News Housing and Redevelopment for over 30 years as a Housing Manager serving the East End Community.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday August 20, 2021 at the funeral home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
