Izora McKinney Prentice was called home at the age of 103 in Hampton, Virginia on August 5, 2022. Izora was a devout Christian, a dedicated educator for more than 30 years and the loving matriarch of her entire family. She was preceded in death by her father George Dallas McKinney and her mother Roseanna Thompson, and her 7 siblings Luvester McKinney, Robert McKinney, Ruth Dixon, Ishmael Mitchell, Marvella Simmons, Jesse McKinney and George McKinney. She is survived by one daughter Marcia Poulson (Ronald), and her three grandchildren Marisa, Micah and Madelynn. She is also survived by her remaining 6 siblings Charles McKinney, Lorenzo McKinney, Rufus McKinney, Ernest McKinney, Esther Smith, and Naomi Rucker. Izora was a faithful member of Bethel Temple for nearly 30 years.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Bethel Temple Church, 1705 Todds Lane, Hampton, VA. The Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, August 22nd, at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
