Harrison "Prim" Clarke departed life on Sunday, January 1, 2023. At the time of transition, he was residing at the Waterview Rehabilitation Center, Hampton, Virginia.

He was born on September 8, 1949, to the late Lencar J. and Celestyne Clarke. He attended Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Huntington High School in 1969.  He was a defensive back on the football team and a star track athlete setting records in the high jump at the Penn and York relays.

He chose brick masonry as his profession and worked for Chesapeake Masonry Company for 30 years until his health began to fail.

He spent quality time with his sons, nieces and nephews teaching them to fish, crab, and lay bricks.  Going on great adventures was one of his favorite past times.

"Clarke" as he was called by many, was a good friend and neighbor to all. His door was always open for anyone in need. His yard was always filled with food, music, and fellowship.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jason Clarke, Kevin Henderson, and Eric Worthington (Janene); grandchildren, Jalen, Zhane' and N'Kai; sister, Leslie Whitney (John); sister-in-law, Valerie Clarke; and an abundance of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Resting in heaven is his sister, Katheryne Smith and brother, Lencar Wayman Clarke.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday.  O. H.
