Mr. James H. Bradley, Sr. was born on October 28, 1926 and resided in Newport News, VA. He expired at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA on May 17, 2017. Mr. Bradley was a native of North Carolina where he received his education. He was also a World War II and Korean War Veteran in the U. S. Army. Mr. Bradley worked a multiplicity of years as a Senior Inspector for the Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority and was also an Inspector for HUD part-time. Mr. Bradley retired from the NNRHA in 1994 and was the owner of Bradley's Landscaping Inc. from 1995 until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents Levy and Mamie Bradley of North Carolina and his sister, Annie L. Whitfield of Newport News, VA. He is survived by his wife, Delores P. Bradley of Newport News; four children, Dr. Veronica J. Bradley and J. Victoria Bradley of Hampton; James H. Bradley, Jr. of Newport News; and Sylvester Bradley of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Christopher (Miledys) and Justin Bradley; two great grandchildren, Christion and Jenzel Bradley; one adopted brother, Thomas Bradley of Rocky Mount, NC; his god children, Alvin and Marilyn Terry of Maryland; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at New Life Church, 1525 Power Plant Parkway, Hampton. Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bradley will be viewed at the church on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
