James Duncan Collins Sr. was born in Redsprings, NC on February 22, 1937. On February 8, 2018, God called him home to be with the Lord. He retired Newport News Shipbuilding with over thirty years of service. He was a member at New Life Church and sung in the choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Elmira P. Collins.

He is survived by his children, Barbara L. Black (Ronald) of San Antonio, TX, Sharon D. Daniel of Temple, TX, Angela Y. Collins of Belton, TX, James D. Collins Jr. of Temple, TX,
James K. Collins of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth L. Collins of Baltimore, MD, Sheene R. Collins-Ricks (Raymond) of Hampton and Javon W. Collins of Hampton; siblings, Ernest D. Collins of Baltimore, MD, Melba O. Brady of Melbourne, FL and Lillie O. McLean of Fayetteville, NC; a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at New Life Church. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
