James Leon Daniel was born December 25, 1947 to the late Edward and Nannie Williams Daniel.  James departed Earth on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Coliseum Park Nursing Home in Hampton, VA, following an extensive illness.  James known by family and friends as "Leon" lived in Newport News, VA, where he retired as a Maintenance Tech.  He enjoyed repairing broken items and reassembling unimpaired items.  He will be fondly remembered for cursing tremendously, slamming the last trump card down in a good game of Bid Whist, and his infectious smile that would light up a room.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Linda Jackson Daniel; two sons, Vincent Crowell (Pamela) of New York and Nathaniel Jackson (Dee) of Newport News; granddaughter, Victoria Crowell of New York; siblings, Lillie Johnson (Linwood) of Hampton, VA, Lucille Whitaker of Richmond, VA, Oda Mae Greene of Richmond, VA, Dorothy Jones of Weldon, NC, Mary Bush (Elijah) of Alabama, Lenard Daniel (Elana) of Petersburg, VA, Deloris Bishop (Larry) of Enfield, NC, Raymond Daniel (Vivian) of Richmond, VA, Linda Bradley of Enfield, NC, Andrew Daniel (Janice) of Baltimore, MD, Patricia Taylor (Andrew) of Clinton, MD, Eliseree Saunders of New Carrollton, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank sister Bell who doubled as his best friend and warrior for his physical and mental health to the very end.
