Newport News-James W. Pickett, 83, departed this life on January 25, 2018. He is survived by 2 children, 2 grandchildren and 1 sister. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Croaker, VA. Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
