James T. Suber departed this life on April 28, 2017. He was born on October 5, 1935 in Newport News, VA to the late Thomas and Mildred Suber. He was known by his family, friends and associates as "Jimmy" or "Jim."

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Suber; children, Craig Suber (Shellee) of Glendale, AZ; Jeanne Suber of Northern VA; David Suber (Altina) of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, sister, Delcenia Moore; and brother, Horace Suber (Bobbi) of Newport News.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Abyssinia Baptist Church, Newport News. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Visitation/viewing will be from 5-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Newport News, during which time the Hampton/Newport News Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. memorial ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Suber will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.
