On Saturday, May 29, 2022, Jessica Cadejah Brown, age 25, of Greenbelt, Maryland departed this life for her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jessica was born on July 7, 1996 in Hampton, Virginia to her much beloved Mother Edith Celeste Brown who transitioned from this life on October 29, 2021.

Jessica was a long time member of the Girl Scouts of America and at the time of her passing was serving as a Troop Leader at The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland; a position that her mother had previously held.  Jessica was an Alumnus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.  Most recently Jessica was enrolled at Howard University in Washington, DC where she was completing the second semester of a Master's Degree in Neuropsychology.

Family and friends will celebrate Jessica's homegoing at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022 at O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home, 3009 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News, VA.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service on Thursday. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
