Jethro Carr, affectionately known as "Lil'Man", by his family and friends and "Jet" by his wife, entered into eternal rest after a long illness on Monday, September 15, 2025. Jethro was born on July 16, 1951 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Jethro and Naomi Carr. He was married to his wife, Susie for 41 years. Out of their union was born their son, Philip Andrew Carr. Jethro was a graduate of Huntington High School, class of 1969, in Newport News, VA. Jethro was a devoted member of First Church of God, in Newport News, VA.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jethro & Naomi Carr, of Newport News, VA, Faye Suiter (Jesse) of Hampton, VA, John Carr of Newport News, VA, Marie Washington (Wesley) of Colorado, Rena Carr of Newport News, VA., and Joseph Addison, of Hampton, VA.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Susie D. Carr; son, Philip A. Carr, both of Newport News, VA; two sisters, Naomi Corry (Walter) and Hazel Ham; one brother, Kevin Carr, all of Hampton, VA; one special sister-in-law, Frances Addison of Hampton, VA and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at First Church of God, 1261 20th Street, Newport News, VA.  Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.  Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church on Tuesday.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
