Joe M. Johnson, 81, passed away on June 16, 2022.  He graduated from Huntington High School, served with the 82nd Airborne, and retired from Newport News Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; son, Troy; sisters, Ruby, Alberta and Helen; brother, Herbert; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. on June 23, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Masks are required for viewing. Due to COVID precautions, the funeral service and burial will be private.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
