John Edward Crawley passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family on November 7, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Minnie Crawley; his treasured son Reginald E. Crawley (Antionette) of Upper Marlboro, MD; a dear brother Walter Crawley of Baltimore, MD; in addition to several nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Dorothy Barnes, Margaret Parker, Blanche Ellison; and brothers, Albert Crawley and Wilford Crawley.

A Celebration of John's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA. Viewing will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Crawley family.

John was a gentle, kind, and loving man who will truly be missed by his family and all who loved him.
