Joyce Darlene Thomas Cook was born on February 9, 1960 to Shirley Mae Thomas and the late Charles Linwood Thomas.  She transitioned peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022.

She met and married Elder Reginald Cook, Sr and were married for 40 years.  To this union they were blessed with two sons, Jason Cook (Sonya) and Reginald Cook Jr.

Joyce graduated from Menchville High School in 1978.

Among those left to cherish memories are a loving husband, Elder Reginald Cook, Sr; her sons Jason Cook (Sonya) and Reginald Cook Jr., three grandchildren; Jasmine Shamel, Jason Cook, and Bailey Williams; one great-grandson Jabari; mother, Shirley Thomas; three sisters; Geneva Banks (Wallace), Cathy Moore (Darryl) and Colleen Thomas; one brother; Jeffery Leon Thomas; three special cousins; Barbara Gurley, Janice Perry, and Charlene Carey.  There are also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other relatives who remain to continue her legacy.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at First Baptist Church Morrison.  Viewing will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Please keep the family in your prayers during this most difficult time and transition.  O.  H.
