Julia H. Truitt, widower of Weldon Truitt, passed peacefully at home on January 31, 2018. She was a proud alumnae of Huntington High, class of 1959 and a retiree of the NN shipyard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Truitt.

Julia leaves three​ daughters to cherish her memory, Julie (Bryan), Lorrie (Ray), Mardi (Damon); three grandsons, five granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren​; brother, Jerome; two sisters, Jill and Valerie; a host nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Greater Walters AME Zion Church, N.N. The Rev. Dr. Kenneth W. Arrington Sr. will be officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
