Katie Truitt Thompson Bond, 88, was the daughter of the late Weldon and Marie Truitt.  She raised seven children and two preceded her in death, Troy "Butch" Thompson and Michael Thompson.

Katie graduated from Huntington High School in 1951. She became an LPN at Dixie Hospital and later at Hampton General Hospital.

She passed away on December 12, 2021.  Survivors include sons, Larry and Jeffrey Thompson; daughters, Lois Johnson, Debra Harden and Sheila Anderson; a sister, a brother, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple.  Viewing will be from 3-6p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
