Lamont Spencer Taylor, 54, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA.

He was born in Newport News, Virginia on Oct. 11, 1967 to his late father, Arthur S. Taylor and late mother, Brazolia C. Beckett Taylor. His brother, Arthur N. Taylor; sister, Lisa M. Davis, paternal grandparents, Phillip and Jane Austin Taylor; and his maternal grandparents, Wallace T. and Ada L. Crewe Beckett, preceded him in death.

Lamont was educated in the Newport News Public School System and graduated from Warwick High School in 1987.

He was employed by the Daily Press for 25 grateful years and took great joy spending his leisure time watching his favorite football team the "Dallas Cowboys."

Lamont is survived by his sister, Michelle C. Taylor Tonkins (James); 3 nephews, Earl J. Taylor, Alex and Allen Davis; 2 nieces, Shanice Taylor and Alisa Davis; great niece, Jordyn Thomas; 1 uncle, 6 aunts and a host of cousins and friends.

God blessed us with his presence in our lives and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
