In Loving Memory of Larry Steward

October 12, 1951 – June 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Steward, who departed this life on June 5, 2026, at the age of 74.

Larry honorably served in the United States Army and lived a life defined by service, strength, and perseverance. He was admired for his resilience, respected for his wisdom, and cherished for the kindness, love, and encouragement he shared with family and friends throughout his life. Above all, Larry was a devoted father and grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family and found his greatest joy in creating lasting memories with those he loved. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support touched many lives.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Lee Steward; his mother, Willie Mae Green; his stepfather, Leroy Green; and his sisters, Brenda Wooten, Carolyn Roberts, JoAnne Parks, Shirley Blue, and Linda Greene.

He leaves to cherish his memory his only son, Larry Haskins (Kenya); his beloved grandchildren, Loyal Haskins and Legacy Haskins; his brother, Bernard Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Larry’s legacy of service, love, and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Miracle Temple Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 3:00–6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the funeral home. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
