Leslie H. Covington, beloved husand of Gaynelle and proud member of Huntington High School Vikings Class of 1967, passed on July 8, 2020 at Sentara CarePlex Hospital.  Leslie was born December 1, 1947 to Juanita Stallings and George Wesley Covington; also born to this union were George Jr., Bonita, Shelton and Orlando.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida; his parents; sister, Bernita; and niece, Susan.

Mourning his passing is his wife, Gaynelle; stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren; three brothers, George and his wife Joann and their sons, Robert, George III and Jason; Shelton and Orlando; a host of nephews and great nephews.

He loved his church family of First Baptist Church East End and looked forward to the weekly One Call message.  He also loved his friends and Alumni Family of Huntington High School Class of 1967.  Following are the names of those who continued to uplift and encourage him:  Ethelridge "E" and Florence Pearson, Judge Walter Bowser, Dallas Corbin, F. Blizzard, Otis Davis, Frank Smith, Alvis, the Satterfield brothers, C. McGlone, Joyce Alexander, Fredrena Hilliard, and Conrad Johnson.

Viewing will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  A private graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Jamaar Jones of First Baptist Church East End, officiating.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
