CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF LINDA MARIE BOONE

Linda Boone peacefully departed this life in Hampton, Virginia when she heard the Master's call on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 8:40 pm, after a short illness.

Linda Boone was born January 27, 1936, to the late Richard and Susanna Edwards, of Jackson, North Carolina.  She was preceded in death by: husband, Stanley Boone; parents, Richard and Susanna Edwards; sister, Lucille and brothers, John, Richard Jr, James, Gurney, and Eldridge Edwards.  She attended public school in Northampton County NC.

Linda became a member of Allen Chapel AME Church, Jackson NC at an early age.  She faithfully attended and supported her local church, New Covenant World Out- Reach Ministry of Hampton, Virginia until her death.

Linda was a woman who spent much of her life being an example of the Word of God.  She was a doer, no stranger to hard work which she started at the age of 12 being the second oldest of 10 children she helped care for her siblings.  Her greatest passion was raising her children and her nieces and nephews with love (and a butt whooping every now and then). She would always greet you with a smile and a meal.  Her home was always open to family and friends.  She enjoyed time spent raising her:  grandchildren, Neikeybeyo and Charmine and her two great granddaughters Tiyana and Tamia and Kaoir Morris who she herself adopted mom as her "BABY".  She loved flowers because they are a reflection of Gods glory and splendor.  Another joy was gardening, caring for her family, baking, and preparing home cooked meals with lots of love.

In 1956, Linda was united in holy matrimony to Stanley Boone and through this Union she was blessed with two children.  She was a loving wife for over 66 years and worked hard to care for her family.  Linda was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, loving sister, aunt and friend to all.

She leaves to cherish her memories two children: son, Milton Boone (Sabrina) and daughter, Vernet Mull (Louis) both of Hampton, VA; two grandchildren, Neikeybeyo Whitehead (Tina) of Hampton, VA and Charmaine Weston of Philadelphia, PA;  two great granddaughters, Tiyana and Tamia Whitehead of Hampton, VA;  two  sisters, Janie Powell of Suffolk, VA and Dianne Murdock of Hampton, VA; one brother, Marshall Edwards of Newport News, VA; three sisters- in-law, Mable Boone of Conway, North Carolina, Barbara Edwards and Jacqueline Edward, both of Hampton, Virginia; and a host of nephews,  nieces, family and friends.

Viewing will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Edwards Family Cemetery in Conway, North Carolina.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
