Lucinda Hinton, 75, daughter of the late Syvonia and David Hinton, entered into eternal life on February 11, 2022.

Lucinda found Christ at an early age and joined Zion Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated and hard worker.  She was a member of the G. W. Carver High School's Class of 1965 and went on to graduate from Norfolk State College.  After graduation, she proudly served as an elementary school teacher with Newport News Public Schools for 30 years.  Upon retirement, she became a member of the Newport News Retired Teachers Association (NNRTA).

Cindy, as she was affectionately known, is survived by her beloved sister, Geraldine H. Cary; niece, Danielle N. Cary; nephew, Dr. Damon E. Cary (Sakeena); two great nieces, Sh'Vonta Cary and Gabrielle Williams; great nephew, Jordan Cary; great great nephew, Ayden Cary; and a host of relative and friends.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for your kind expressions of sympathy as well as the staff of Coliseum Nursing and Rehab Center for their care and compassion.

Homegoing services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Zion Baptist Church, 633 20th Street, Newport News, VA. Dr. Tremayne Johnson will be officiating.  Viewing will be one hour before the service. Interment at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, VA.  O. H.
