Mack Daniel Johnson Sr. was born January 28, 1941 in Irmo, SC to the late Macy Johnson and Thomas Wingard.  He passed from this life on January 17, 2022 at Riverside Memorial Hospital in Newport News, VA.  Mack joined Mt Calvary United Fellowship Outreach in Newport News, VA at an early age upon moving to Virginia.  He graduated from Richtex High School in Irmo, SC.  Mack worked at NASA with Triple R Janitorial Inc. doing janitorial and supply work.

Mack enjoyed fishing, old westerns, old American legal drama shows, and sitting around talking to friends and family.  He always spoke very fondly of enjoying spending time with his cousin Olin.

Mack will be missed by his daughter, Veria (James) Davis of Columbia, SC, 3 sons Mack (Lisa) Johnson Jr. of Newport News, VA, Antoine (Phyllis) Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Anthony Johnson of Columbia, SC; two sisters Thelma Rivers of SC, and Margie Jackson of NY; 3 grandchildren Tyrika, Nichele, and Lauren, and 1 great grand son Kenyon.  Also left to cherish his memory is Gloria Johnson, mother of his children, of Columbia, SC.; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

Mack was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him Mary and Frank Wingard, 1 son Tyron Johnson, 1 brother James W. Johnson, 1 sister, Delores and 1 granddaughter Kenya.
