New Bern, NC- Madeline Christian, 95, departed this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018.  She is survived by two sons, Bernard Royster and David Royster; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2018 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.  Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday.
