Margaret M. Lovett, 83, affectionately known as "Oma," passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016. She was born in Caswell County, North Carolina to Aldean, Sr. and Bertha McGhee. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1951 and married the love of her life, Linwood M. Lovett, Sr. that same year and would tell anyone she had him for 65 years. They were blessed with three children, Lanae, Tina and Linwood, Jr. Margaret was employed by the civil service at Fort Eustis from 1960-1982. She joined First Baptist Church Denbigh in 1956 where she was an active member until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Aldean McGhee, Sr.; her husband, Linwood M. Lovett, Sr.; two brothers, James Robert McGhee and Howard McGhee; and daughter, Lanae Crawley.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Bertha McGhee; her siblings, Brenda Ball (Ralph) and Aldean McGhee, Jr. (Sunik); daughters, Janice Mays (Gus) and Tina Spencer (Gary); son, Linwood, Jr. (Gwen); ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; son-in-law, Chuck Crawley (Josephine); a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church Denbigh, 3628 Campbell Rd., Newport News. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
